There are lots of things to do in London, it’s a big place. However, whilst big, London doesn’t particularly believe in things being ‘free’, which, as a student who is pretty much always broke, is pretty rubbish.
I’m a big fan of free things. I also really like interesting things.
The Wellcome Collection happens to tick both boxes. (It also has some great salads! AND lovely loos!!)
Vibe: Your cool uncle who lives in a converted barn next to a beetroot farm, appreciates a good purple suit, tea and happens to have a large collection of ancient sex toys.
The permanent collection is a wonderful mix of the eccentric, old and new. It’s completely bizarre. There’s a wall of diet books to put across the point that they don’t tend to work all that well – which given I went the day after the Victoria’s Secret show – was a nice bonus. There’s also a lot of dead humans too, which is interesting, if you’re into that.
However, whilst the permanent collection is cool and incredibly weird in equal parts, the current installation is where it gets particularly instagramable.
Whixh is a completely valid measure thank you very much.
It’s basically a room of smoke created by…….
But it’s not just a room full of smoke created for you to freak out your friends, which you totally can, it’s a room filled with MULTICOLOURED, GRADIATING SMOKE.
You can stand with pink in front of you, yellow to your back and green on your left.
I spent most of my time inside hysterically giggling and running away from my friends, and given its free I think you should too.
